Our senses are our angels protecting us to be
Ever so pervasive, guarding our sensitivity
For without this shield, we will get punched
Gut wrenching moments where we get crunched
The eyes are the lenses, we visualize the big picture
Seeing differences a split second, an exclusive fixture
Through muddied tracks we learn to see
Where caution flags exist, providing a path to flee
The ears are the sounds that give harmony
Any cacophony contrast, a noisy falsity
In the resonance of our accord we do find peace
Our dove flying away by a loud bang does music cease
The nose is the way we find pleasant scent
Pungent smells driving us away from what is meant
An aroma worth moving toward that makes us stand still
Only so far if the air becomes stale, we cut the thrill
The tongue is the tool that savors the joy of food
The body vomiting if not right, shifting our mood
Even a small particle prepared with joy
Can be destroyed instantly if it is a virus-playing toy
With our hands we feel the essence of article
If the feeling is coarse, we shift away the particle
Even a cactus as prickly can be, can be a friend
Beware of soft sands, where scorpions sting and pretend
Don’t be ignorant and believe you don’t have senses
For in the juice of these mysteries, we put up our defenses
Our innate being has been designed this way
Conditioned over time, protecting us throughout the day
You may think that judging is doing something bad
For this I say no, it means shielding us toward anything sad
Only a foolish person will allow all winds to enter his domain
Don’t forget about tornados that swoop unexpectedly our terrain
We are both a victim and institutor of opinion
For if there was no grade in school, all would achieve dominion
Through rejection from love, you build the metal spine of your soul
A job denied through an interview, the pathway for a bigger goal
You may ask, why be picky in life or even who to be with?
For in answering this question, resides the jerk or witch
These are symbols that drive us to become ever so selfish
Increased states of individuality, cooked like the perfect dish
Be a judge for your life, for you only have only one life to live
Time is the most precious commodity that you can self-give
Eliminate any noise to give you that precious sound
Without physical harm, stand firm on your ground
In life are many stems of sugar cane jutting from the ground
Use your senses to cut the stalk and let the honey be found
If sweetness is not worthy of sharing, firm your verdict attitude
Crush the cane, drink the nectar, and celebrate in holistic solitude
